This Privacy Policy explains how ScanIt AI ("the App", "we", "us") handles information
when you use our Android application (package com.scanitai.app). ScanIt AI is developed and
published by IntelliStack. The App is built as an offline-first document scanner
and organizer — scanning, OCR, and document intelligence all run locally on your device, and the
App does not require you to create an account.
1. Data We Collect
ScanIt AI does not require sign-up and does not operate any backend server for your document content. The following data is created and processed as you use the App:

2. On-Device Scanning & AI — Nothing Leaves Your Phone
Document capture uses CameraX and Google ML Kit's Document Scanner (automatic edge detection). Text recognition, smart field extraction, text highlighting, auto-summaries, auto folder suggestion, expiry-date detection, and Document Q&A all run using on-device ML Kit models. None of your scanned images or extracted text is sent to IntelliStack's servers or any third-party AI service for these features — everything happens locally within the App, including when you're offline.
3. Data Storage & Security
All app data (documents, images, extracted text, tags, folders) is stored in a local Room database encrypted with SQLCipher, keyed via the Android Keystore. Locked documents and the App itself can be protected with a PIN or biometric unlock. We have no access to your documents — they exist solely on your device unless you deliberately export, share, or back them up yourself.
4. Exporting, Sharing & Backup
You can export documents as PDF, PNG, or plain text, share them directly from the App, or print them. These actions are initiated by you and go wherever you choose to send them (e.g. your Downloads folder, WhatsApp, email, or cloud storage) — IntelliStack does not receive a copy. The Settings backup/restore feature creates a ZIP file (your data, images, and a manifest) that is saved to a location you choose; we do not have access to it, and restoring it is entirely user-initiated.

6. Advertising
The free tier of ScanIt AI shows interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and other data for ad delivery, measurement, and personalization, under Google's own Privacy Policy and AdMob data disclosure. We do not control or receive this data ourselves.
7. Subscriptions & Payments
ScanIt AI Pro (yearly or lifetime) removes ads and plan limits, and is sold via Google Play Billing. Payments are processed securely by Google; we do not see or store your card or payment details. Please refer to Google Play's own policies for how billing information is handled.
8. In-App Feedback
If you use the "Send Feedback" option, the App opens an email draft (pre-filled with your app version and device info) addressed to intellistack.ai@gmail.com. Nothing is sent automatically — the email is only submitted if you choose to send it yourself.
9. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not require an account, so we do not collect your name, email, or phone number to use the App.
- We do not access your contacts, call logs, or messages.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not upload your scanned documents or extracted text to any server we operate.
10. Children's Privacy
ScanIt AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Your Choices & Data Deletion
- Delete individual documents, folders, or tags at any time from within the App.
- Clear all app data via Android Settings → Apps → ScanIt AI → Storage → Clear Data.
- Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored, encrypted data.
- Disable notifications or camera/storage permissions at any time from your device settings.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
